Serving Our Community

Oshkosh Social Services

The Salvation Army believes strongly in meeting the basic needs of individuals and families, young and old. These basic needs include food, clothing, shelter and household needs. While meeting the physical needs, The Salvation Army staff also offer hope and guidance to those coming in for services.

• Back to School Fair - We partner with families and other agencies to participate in a community Back to School Fair where students can receive the school supplies they need to be successful.

• Coats for Kids - The Salvation Army is the distribution point for the Coats for Kids program. On average, we issue 1,000 coats to those in need.

• Holiday Assistance - We provide several assistance programs during the holidays, including a Community Thanksgiving meal served a week before Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve meal, and Adopt a Family.

• Pathway of Hope - The Salvation Army offers holistic and strengths based case management services to families with children who have a desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and attain a level of increased stability. Families will work in partnership with their case manager and ministry staff to develop an action plan as well as assess their strengths and progress while receiving support and encouragement to reach their goals.

Food Pantry

Salvation Army Oshkosh Food Pantry

Clients can visit the food pantry Monday through Friday at the following times:

Monday 10:00am to 1:00pm
Tuesday 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Wednesday 10:00am to 1:00pm
Thursday 12:00pm to 3:00pm

Clients need a pantry card to access the pantry. A pantry card can be obtained by visiting the pantry and showing proof of ID and residency.

Clients are able to use the pantry one time within thirty days, and the amount of food they receive depends upon the number of people living in the household.

The pantry is stocked by donations from food drives, businesses and individuals. When the pantry is low, goods are purchased with donated money.

Our food pantry is unique because clients are able to shop the pantry and pick out the items they would like from each food group. This provides a more independent experience!
