The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit Red Kettle Campaign
Annual holiday campaign helps feed and shelter

Detroiters in need throughout the year

Christmas in July is a great reminder that need knows no season and metro Detroiters are in need of assistance even during the summer months.

Most people are familiar with The Salvation Army red kettles and bell ringers located outside stores throughout the holiday season collecting donations for neighbors in need. Did you know the funds raised between Thanksgiving and Christmas help provide food and shelter to those in need throughout the entire year?

The Salvation Army actively raises funds and awareness, and serves local communities throughout spring, summer, fall and winter. As a media member you your help will bring added awareness to The Salvation Army’s cause.

From special events such as the Shield on the Field Celebrity Softball Classic in the spring and Celebrity Bell Ringer Day during the holidays to volunteering at a community corps food pantry or serving food from a Bed & Bread truck, there are many ways you can get involved.

A few media personalities who’ve volunteered in the past include Dick Purtan, Blaine Fowler & Allyson Martinek, Lauren Podell, Brad Galli, Jim Madaus, Bobby Mitchell, Amy Andrews, Roop Raj and Tony Paul.
