MAP’s purpose is to provide an opportunity for Salvation Army soldiers and staff to explore the personal mission to which God is calling them in the context of the Army’s mission “to preach the gospel … to meet human need …”
MAP will be hosted by the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Grand Rapids MI. To tour the GR Kroc, visit their website: http://grkroccenter.org/
Saturday morning workshops
Delegates will be able to select and attend two workshops. Ten choices will be offered in which delegates can explore the possibilities for ministry through social media, officership, social justice, missions, Kroc, and exploring the importance of The Church. Delegates select their workshops at the MAP online registration site.
Captain Valerie Carr - Friday PM
Lt. Bill Brutto - Saturday PM
Each session will feature worship led by The Singing Company, thought provoking and challenging messages from Salvationists committed to mission, and other special elements that support MAP’s purpose.
Our 2013 MAP speakers
Soong-Chan Rah - Saturday AM
Colonel Merle Heatwole – Sunday AM
Housing will be provided at Little Pine Island Camp for single and married couples. Little Pine Island is located a 20 minute drive from the Kroc Center and offers the most affordable lodging option. Singles can expect dorm arrangements; married couples will have private rooms with shared bath. Married couples also have the option at additional cost of hotel accommodations with breakfast closer to the Kroc Center. Please remember, lodging is made on a first-come/first-served basis.
Saturday Afternoon Activity
This year there will be time to enjoy the Kroc Center – fellowship with one another and digest information.
Must be at least 18 years of age by October 28, 2013 to attend. Remember, MAP will challenge delegates to explore their personal mission in the context of the Army’s mission. They will be expected to do so by participating fully in the program of plenary sessions, workshops, Saturday activity and fellowship.

Join with me, the MAP planning committee, and the territory in prayer. We want MAP to be used by God to increase the effectiveness of our labor in the fields He has sent the Salvation Army. More than at any other time in the Central Territory we are hearing and seeing young adults say that they want to follow in the steps of Christ to serve the people and in the places of this world which God so loved. These three days in Grand Rapids could be a personal turning point for men and women looking for their place in Army life and mission. Prayerfully encourage and guide to MAP those with whom you have personal influence. Thank you.
