The Salvation Army Responds to Chicago Area Flooding
The Salvation Army is responding to storms that have created severe flooding in many Chicago neighborhoods and suburban communities.
An Emergency Disaster Services mobile canteen and crew from The Salvation Army Metropolitan Division is in the Albany Park community of Chicago at the Eugene Park Field House at 5100 N. Ridgeway serving food and hydration to approximately 150 first responders and emergency personnel responding to the flooding.
Two additional canteens are on stand-by for immediate dispatch awaiting further requests from either the City Incident Command Center or suburban Emergency Management agencies.
The Salvation Army will continue to distribute updates throughout the storm relief efforts as additional information becomes available. For up-to-date information, please contact Melanie Scofield, Director of Communications at (773) 205-3254.
