Giving Tuesday: Four ways to get started!
Everyone is familiar with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but do you know what today is?
It’s the second annual Giving Tuesday, the official opening day of the giving season! The Salvation Army, along with other charities, businesses, families and individuals across the country are teaming up to encourage giving back this Christmas and beyond.
It’s a great day to give back and spread joy and love! Need inspiration? Here are four ways you can give this Christmas Season:
Give Joy:
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides new clothing or toys for children of needy families through the support of donors. And thanks to the generosity of our participants, thousands of American children will be able to experience the thrill of Christmas morning and find a gift with their name on it waiting beneath the Christmas tree.
Give joy to an Angel in your town today, contact your local Salvation Army by entering your zip code at https://centralusa.salvationarmy.org/usc/locations.

Give Peace:
As a result of monetary contributions from our supporters, the Army is able to provide a vast range of services such as offer shelter to those without a home, assist working-poor families with emergency rent and utility bill payments and more!
Give peace of mind with the gift of warmth and comfort to those in your community. Visit https://donate.salvationarmyusa.org/
Give Hope:
Consider donating your gently used goods such as clothing, furniture and household items to your local Salvation Army Family Store and provide a brighter future for residents undergoing physical and spiritual rehabilitation at our Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC).
Give Comfort:
In an effort to combat food insecurity, The Salvation Army meets this basic need with our food pantries which provide groceries for individuals and families in need.
Give comfort by helping us ensure tables don’t go bare and those less fortunate have enough to eat. With just a few donated cans, you can provide food – and a holiday meal – for a family in need. To donate a bag of nonperishable foods to your local Salvation Army food pantry, check out our main website for a list of locations near you: https://centralusa.salvationarmy.org/usc/locations.
Happy giving!
