Moving, downsizing, or clearing out storage can be downright unpleasant. In fact, it’s considered the third most stressful life event after death and divorce, according to the Employee Relocation Council. Let’s change that mindset and explore a way you can do some good and enjoy the experience by making a difference in someone else’s life.

Cut your clutter and donate your gently used items to The Salvation Army.

Whatever your reason or motivation is, getting rid of stuff and doing some deep cleaning can be extremely therapeutic for both your mind and body, by doing good as you clear out the “bad”. So why not add to that “do good” feeling by donating your used goods to our Family Stores. It’s so easy to do and can really make a difference in someone else’s life.

Your donations to our Family Stores help us Do the Most Good by supporting our efforts to give physical and spiritual rehabilitation for adults who have lost their way at our Adult Rehabilitation Centers (ARC).

Check out this video and see for yourself how much of a difference your donations make: Arzell shares his journey from jail and the violence of the streets to the ARC program that changed his life and became “more than a family” to him.

Just visit www.satruck.org and find the closet location near you. You can drop off your donations or give us a call and schedule a pick up. Also, check out the easy-to-use Salvation Army Family Store App, available on the App Store and Google play, where you can schedule a pickup, find locations and get rewards.

Funded by the proceeds from your purchases, more than 150 rehabilitation centers across the country provide substance abuse rehabilitation to more than 320,000 people each year. Learn more about the Adult Rehabilitation Program and read true stories of recovery by clicking here.
