Thank You, Partners in Giving!

Nov 23, 2012

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for all of The Salvation Army's supporters who make our annual Red Kettle Campaign possible each year.

That includes the 40 million viewers who tuned in to watch our 16th annual Red Kettle Kick-Off show yesterday during halftime of the Dallas Cowboys game. We enjoyed watching Salvation Army supporter and fellow football fanatic Kenny Chesney rock the stage with hits like "El Cerrito Place" and "Feel Like a Rockstar," and we hope you did too. We give thanks for Jerry and Gene Jones, Charlotte Jones Anderson, and the Cowboys organization for their continuing individual and corporate commitment to the Army.

Today marks the official start of The Salvation Army's 122nd annual Red Kettle Campaign, the longest running fundraiser of its kind, and one of the most recognizable charitable campaigns in the United States.

In the coming weeks, around 25,000 volunteers will spread throughout the country to ring bells and collect donations from holiday shoppers to help their community members in need. Last year, the public's spare change helped The Salvation Army provide food, clothing, toys and other assistance to 30 million Americans, with 5 million served during the holiday months alone. We give thanks for the volunteers and charitable individuals who support our efforts.

Of course, The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign would not be possible without the support of our corporate partners. Along with the thousands of businesses that allow us to stand kettles at their store fronts, we give thanks for the following national partners:

  • Big Lots
  • Bloomingdales
  • Gordmans
  • Hobby Lobby
  • Jcpenney
  • Kroger
  • Macy's
  • Sam's Club
  • Walgreens
  • Walmart

Along with supporting our Kettle Campaign, many of these partners individually contribute to The Salvation Army through various promotions and campaigns. We really couldn't "Do the Most Good" without their support. If you're braving the crowds on this Black Friday, or anytime up until Christmas, we hope your shopping will include a visit to one of these partners in giving!

The Salvation Army is continually blessed through those who partner in mission with us, who enable us to reach so many in need across the country. From everyone at The Salvation Army: Thank You for your thoughtful, generous, and prayerful support.
