The Salvation Army is the single largest provider of social services of its kind in the United States.

It arrived in Wichita in 1886 to feed the hungry, clothe the poor and bring hope to the dispirited. Today, The Salvation Army in Kansas and Western Missouri helps more than 287,500 of our neighbors who have nowhere else to turn for help. Annually we provide nearly one million meals, more than 163,500 nights of shelter and a wide range of other critical services for the less fortunate each year. The Salvation Army features a complex network of programs serving people of every age.
