Battle Creek Care Food Drive

Nov 9, 2018

To the rescue! The Salvation Army Battle Creek Corps is in need of non-perishable items for their client-choice pantry.  The local police & fire departments instantly stepped up to help! BCPD & BCFD have agreed to combine efforts to hold a food drive from Wednesday, 11/7-Wednesday, 11/21. in order to help The Salvation Army Battle Creek serve those in need this holiday season.

“We were in immediate need of food for our food pantry and we reached out to Officer Brice Kerschen. He has been very active in our community & has even attended a landlord educational meeting here at our Corps. Right away, Officer Kerschen jumped at the opportunity. He even extended an invitation to us to come in to the police station that same day to talk with his team. The officers were all very receptive to the idea & willing to help.” stated Major Kevin Van Zee, Corps Officer

The community can get in on this effort as well! Items most desired: canned soups, canned veges, mac & cheese, pasta, sauces, canned fruit, cereal, oatmeal, crackers, easy meals (ravioli, Spaghetti O’s, tuna, canned chicken & proteins), elbow macaroni, peanut butter, jelly, ketsup. We will gladly accept ANY donations that are brought in. They do NOT have to be listed. These are simply suggested items.
