Smiles Make the Greatest Gifts

Providing physical needs such as grocery, utility and gift assistance,
to emotional experiences including holiday events and traditions.

The Salvation Army's mission shines brightest at Christmas.

The Salvation Army celebrates the birth of Christ by spreading His hope, love and joy to less fortunate members of our community. In fact, our gift-giving programs and fundraising initiatives are a direct answer to God's calling to care for the poor, hungry, sick, and displaced. From physical needs such as grocery, utility and gift assistance, to emotional experiences including holiday events and traditions, to spiritual guidance that provides healing and hope, we work to assist the whole person through gifts that serve the body, mind and soul.

How we help brighten the holidays

Especially during the holiday season, needed assistance with everyday problems can help a family have the hope they need to start the new year. The Salvation Army assists families with temporal needs by providing diapers, utility, rent, and other assistance. Through our holistic approach to serving the whole person, we supplement every service with emotional and spiritual support.

Angel Tree

Our Angel Tree provides families that do not have the ability to give their children gifts at Christmas. By picking up a card for one of our many trees and purchasing a gift for that child, you will be providing that child with wonderful Christmas experience! Businesses can contribute by purchasing hats and gloves that will be distributed to many families in need. This is a fantastic opportunity to help warm the body and hearts of children though out our community.

In order for us to properly set-up, stock, collect and distribute the materials and gifts, we need volunteers! You can help by simply hosting a tree in your workplace. If you have more time to give, you could help maintain several trees by stocking Angel cards and collecting toys from the locations. Only want to serve one time? Perfect! We need folks to help with distribution day! If any of these opportunities sound like something you would be interested in, please please call the Corps at 231-796-5597.
