Waypoint Community Church Doubling Salvation Army Red Kettle Donations Up to $3,000

Dec 18, 2024

Bells will be ringing a little louder at Salvation Army Red Kettles in Elkhart this Friday and Saturday thanks to a special gift from Waypoint Community Church. The church will be matching all donations to Red Kettles on December 20 and 21 up to $3,000. Shoppers are encouraged to give a little extra as they pass by Red Kettles to help The Salvation Army of Elkhart take full advantage of this match challenge.

"This match is coming at a vital time," said Major Tim Nauta of The Salvation Army of Elkhart. "With just a few days of bell ringing left before Christmas, donations are needed now more than ever in order to reach our $500,000 fundraising goal. The programs and services we'll offer our community in 2025 are funded by those dollars dropped into kettles, so we're excited to get out there and do our best to meet that $3,000 match goal!"

Voyant Beauty is stepping up to help ring over the two days of the match, volunteering for a total of 52 hours at eight different Red Kettle locations. General Manager Cody Risner and HR Director Dawn Whitcomb shared why they are choosing to give back in such an impactful way:

“At Voyant Beauty, we are deeply committed to the transformative power of giving back to our community. Through our partnership with The Salvation Army, we have the privilege of making a real, lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most. The Salvation Army’s inspiring mission to 'doing the most good' fuels our team’s passion and drive, empowering us to join forces with this extraordinary organization and be a force for good in the world. Together, we are not just making a difference — we are creating lasting change.”

Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle this weekend will find bell ringers in Elkhart and Bristol at Walmart, Martin's Super Market, Kroger, Hobby Lobby, and Harding's Market. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this holiday season is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule. There are still 2-hour volunteer bell ringing shifts available to ensure that as many Red Kettles as possible are out during this special match period.

Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given. Visit SAElkhart.org to learn more about how you can help The Salvation Army ensure that they can Love Beyond Christmas and help those in need in 2025.
