Everence Financial Gift Doubles Kettle Donations

Nov 22, 2023

The Salvation Army's annual Christmas fundraising campaign will be getting a big boost after the holiday weekend thanks to Everence Financial and a generous $2,000 matching gift. From November 27 through December 9 cash donations dropped into Red Kettles in Goshen will be doubled in the hope that shoppers will be encouraged to give a little more to help their neighbors in need.

"Everence is honored to partner with The Salvation Army to support their Red Kettle campaign each holiday season," said Brent Miller, Managing Director at Everence Financial. "As neighbors on the north side of Goshen, we want to support all members of our community."

Inflation has hit Hoosier households especially hard this year and The Salvation Army has worked tirelessly to meet the increased needs of area residents with emergency financial assistance for rent, utilities, and food. Donations made to the iconic Red Kettles are more important than ever, as they will help to ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to meet these needs while providing regular programming and services to children, families, and adults in the community.

"We here at The Salvation Army in Goshen love our partnership with Everence Financial," said Captain Joseph Hixenbaugh of The Salvation Army of Goshen. "Their team of hard-working people supports our mission in many ways. Having their support during our most significant fundraiser is a wonderful continuation of the partnership that goes on between Everence and The Salvation Army."

Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle during the match period will find bell ringers at Walmart, Kroger, and Martin's. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this holiday season is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule. Bell ringers are still needed to ensure that all of the kettles can be out every day next week.

Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given.
