Pak-a-Sak Paper Kettles are Back!
Monday kicks off a 5-week Paper Kettle drive at 29 Indiana Pak-a-Sak retail locations. The annual campaign benefits The Salvation Army's Christmas assistance and emergency assistance programs in 13 counties in northern and northeastern Indiana. Paper Kettles can be purchased for $1 at the register and will be displayed in the stores though the holiday season. Donations will be accepted from November 25 to December 29 at each Pak-a-Sak location in the state.
Throughout the year, thousands of Hoosier families turn to The Salvation Army for emergency rent and utility assistance, access to food pantries and feeding programs, and safe community programs for people of all ages. In 2023, The Salvation Army Indiana Division provided almost 2.8 million meals to the hungry and 89,000 nights of shelter to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
Many Salvation Army corps also provide special assistance during Christmas, ensuring that struggling households can still put gifts under the tree and food on the table during our most special celebrations. The Paper Kettle program provides the funding necessary to meet the needs of the community, especially during challenging economic times.
"Pak-a-Sak has been a great supporter of The Salvation Army and we're excited that they're bringing back the Paper Kettle program this year," said Major Marc Johnson, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army Indiana Division. "As the cost of living continues to rise, we're seeing more and more Hoosiers turn to us to help put food on the table and keep the lights on. With partners like Pak-a-Sak, we know we can continue to answer those calls for help."
In addition to offering Paper Kettles at 29 Pak-a-Sak locations in Indiana, parent company Jay Petroleum is extending the program to its Party Mart stores in western Ohio. Donations to these stores will support The Salvation Army's ministries in Ohio. For more information about the company and to find your local Pak-a-Sak, visit JayPetroleum.com.
