While many of our volunteer opportunities take place during the Christmas Season [Be a Bell Ringer], many volunteer opportunities are available throughout the year. Check out our top volunteer needs below.

Serve in Ministry

There are exciting ways you can get involved in the ministry of The Salvation Army. We are putting church planting back in our DNA with the Connection Project. You can be part of planting faith communities throughout the Starved Rock Region, and be part of making more people more like Jesus.

Serve in Community Support

Perhaps what The Salvation Army is best known for is our care and outreach to those who are in need. Throughout the United States, we help over 30,000,000 people each year, and you can be a part of that. We’re always looking for presenters in our Life Together workshops, Pathway of Hope mentors, or packing emergency food boxes once a month. But those aren’t the only opportunities you can do to have an impact on supporting your community. Our community support needs vary seasonally so there is always something to be a part of.

Serve in our Facility

Let’s face it, buildings need organized, cleaned, and maintained. For some, this can seem like a real chore. For others, it’s right up their alley! If you have a passion for greeting guests in person and over the phone, processing and organizing data, cleaning, or keeping our facility looking great and safe while we serve those in need, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Volunteer at Our Corps

Serve on our Emergency Disaster Services Team

Join our team of trained volunteers that respond to local disasters, fires and events in our community.  Our team serves LaSalle, Bureau, Grundy, and Putnam counties for disasters. Be the first on the front lines to lend hydration, food, and physical/emotional/spiritual support to families who have experienced a disaster and our local fire and police departments.
