The Weekly Word - A Devotion for the Week of January 23

Jan 20, 2023

Faith in God gives us power. Power to soar, power to grow and evolve and power to endure whatever trials and tribulations that stand before us.

Power can be a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For some, power is money. For others, it is control.

Power can also be forgiveness, deliverance, solitude, gratitude. It’s whatever we want and need.

It’s in our control to use our power in the way God wants us to.  It’s up to each of us to decide the best way to harness this power – to use it for the good of ourselves as well as for others.

But it’s also not selfish for us to look out for ourselves. Ultimately, power gives us options, and our faith in God and desire to do good dictates our choices and drives our decisions.

It’s important that we let faith guide us. However, we choose to wield our power – whatever amount it may be – dictates outcomes for ourselves as well as for others.
