Mini-Golf for Good Raises almost $10,000
The Salvation Army in Battle Creek’s Mini-golf for good on August 9th, was a huge success, raising almost $10,000 to help support their programs in Calhoun and Barry Counties.
With temps in the low 70’s, nearly 200 participants of all ages took advantage of the sunny day, as they navigated their golf balls through a wagon wheel, water traps and even an outhouse.
The event was held at Hit-em Here Golf Course in Battle Creek. The $10 admission fee included a round of golf and lunch.
Tee times were held every hour from 1:00-5:00 p.m. A silent auction was also held during the event and was a huge success. Items included a hot air balloon ride from Hot Ziggity’s with a value of $600 and other donated items.
“We are so pleased with the tremendous success today, especially because it’s the first time we’ve held a mini-golf event,” said Corps officer Captain Mika Roinila. “Today’s success is a testament to the unwavering dedication and support of our board members, sponsors, golfers, and volunteers. Their collective effort truly made a difference!”
