Free coat distribution this year is limited to adults (over 18) who didn’t receive a coat in 2019 and children under the age of 5. Individuals needing a coat should call The Salvation Army at (309)829-9476, extension 289 beginning Thursday, October 8. Clients will leave a message, then be contacted via telephone for an intake interview over the phone. An appointment for coat pick-up will be scheduled during the interview. There will not be open selection this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Individuals who cannot complete the online application may call The Salvation Army at (309)829-9476, extension 299 beginning Thursday, October 8 and leave a message requesting an intake interview. Appointments will be scheduled for November 5 & 6.
Individuals seeking assistance for Toys for Tots and/or the Christmas Food Box must provide a photo ID, current piece of mail for proof of address, proof of income for the last 30 days and an identifying document for each member of the household (DHS benefit statement, medical card, shot records, school records, etc.). A country ID or complete medical card printout is acceptable.
Please note: A state-issued medical card is sufficient for address and income. A driver's license does not count as a form of address verification. Documentation will be required for both in-person appointments and online registration.

Applications must be completed at the office and may not be taken from the premises. Applicants must have an unexpired state-issued photo ID AND either Social Security Card or Certified Birth Certificate with them. Applications will not be accepted without both documents. Applicants should enter the building from the Mason Street door and will be required to wear a mask at all times and maintain social distance.
