Doing the Most Good on Giving Tuesday with The Salvation Army
Annual day of giving on December 3 can make a big impact in communities across Indiana
Giving Tuesday is almost here, and The Salvation Army Indiana Division is asking for support from communities across the state. This annual day of giving has a tremendous impact on The Salvation Army each year, raising funds that are used to provide year-round services and local programs for almost 800,000 Hoosiers. This year's goal is to raise $40,000 on Giving Tuesday to help keep these essential programs going in 2025.
The Salvation Army has set up a crowdfunding campaign for Giving Tuesday so supporters can track progress toward the 2024 goal. Donors can choose to give a one-time gift or sign up as a sustaining donor with gifts as little as $10 a month. Every dollar given on Giving Tuesday will go back to each donor's community to support local services and ministries. From food pantries and youth camps to the innovative Pathway of Hope program, the impact can be seen year-round across Indiana.
"This has been a hard year for Hoosiers, but we are working every day to meet the needs of those who walk through our doors," said Major Marc Johnson, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army Indiana Division. "With winter just around the corner, we know that we'll see an increase in the need for utility assistance, food, and a safe place for children to play. Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to raise the funds necessary to keep our pantries stocked, our gyms open, and our neighbors in a safe, warm home. Our gratitude goes out to every person who chooses to support The Salvation Army this Giving Tuesday. Thank you for doing the most good!"
