Summer Feeding Program Update
Sharing Hope - One Meal at a Time
This Summer we have partnered with The YWCA Canton to ensure that children and families have access to a healthy meal. And the best part is - we bring the meal to them!
The MOBILE “Feeding Hope” Program delivers lunch Monday - Friday to 7 locations in Canton and select locations in Fulton County. The program will run throughout the summer for a total of 55 days.
As of Friday, July 24th more than 11,000 meals had been provided to area families. The need is far greater than we originally anticipated. We serve nearly 150 people from our truck each day.
“Each day we go out, I am reminded of why I do what I do,” said Captain Sarah Eddy. “That reminder of what Jesus asks us to do - by first loving Him and then loving our neighbors, is so powerful. We see first hand the impact COVID-19 has had in our community. We hear of the job losses, the loss of time with loved ones, the fear of the unknown and the fear of uncertainty. In Matthew 25 we learn that when we share with those in need, we are really sharing with Jesus. In what ways can you share with others today? Can you be an ambassador of hope and sponsor a day or a week of our program? Can you bring a box of poptarts, or granola bars to fill the breakfast bags? Maybe you can only give to support one meal, $3.40? “Whatever you do for the least of these my brothers and sisters, you have done for me.” Matthew 25:40
