The Gifts of Partnership
The Holiday Season isn’t quite here yet, but our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team just received an early present, brand new CB radios – courtesy of our partners at the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
New equipment like this is one of the many reasons that the Heartland Division has maintained such a highly responsive, effective and successful EDS department. The staff and volunteers that carry out this incredible work are now going to have a new, reliable way to communicate when serving your community in the wake of disaster. This all comes directly from the Public Safety Foundation Grant that was generously awarded to The Salvation Army.
What makes gifts like these even more important to our services/programs is the local support that provides them. Not only do we cherish any chance we get to expand & improve our impact with helping those in need, but when these opportunities are given to us by local partners it means so much more! Feeling the support for our mission from other local, dedicated people like us assures that our mission is not only reaching those around us, but also inspiring them.
Our EDS teams will now have enhanced mobile communication to better respond when answering the call of a local emergency. The Heartland Division has been able to respond to fires, earthquakes, tornadoes, local law disputes & many other unseen tragedies. With this grant awarded, these services will only continue to provide further relief for all disaster survivors we aid in the future.
Thank you to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation & all the continued local support you provide.
