Online:

In-person for those unable to register online:
November 1, 2024 (9am-11:30am)

Requirements
Toy & Ham Assistance for households with children eligible for toys:
- Linn County Iowa Resident. You will be required to upload a copy of your ID with Linn Co. address when you register.
- Children between the ages of newborn – 14 years (as of November 15, 2024). You will be required to upload a document for each child showing their name and date of birth.
- Children must be living in your household at least 50% of the time. Each child can only be signed up once. If you share custody, work out with the other adult ahead of time who will register the child.
- You may not be participating in any other toy programs.
When you register for this program, you are agreeing that you meet the above requirements. Violation of these terms will result in disqualification from participation.
Ham Assistance for households without children eligible for toys:
- Linn County Iowa Resident. You will be required to upload a copy of your ID when you register.
Distribution
Where: Hawkeye Downs
When:
Monday, December 9 (ham only households)
AND
Tuesday, December 10 through Thursday, December 12 (toys & ham).
You will receive an email with your assigned appointment time when your registration is approved.
A note on our registration software
In the Linn Co. Iowa area, we are in partnership with Toys for Tots to provide toys in a “toy shop” format, where parents/guardians select gifts for their children.
However, we use a registration software that is typically used for Salvation Army’s Angel Tree. This can be confusing. You will see references to the Angel Tree Program, the logo and receive emails with Angel Tree as the sender.
You will receive emails throughout the registration process. Be sure to check your spam and junk folders for these emails, searching for "Angel Tree." If you do not receive an email within 7 business days of your registration, please contact the office at 319-364-9131 or email Amy.Stano@usc.salvationarmy.org.
The toys given to families are provided in collaboration with Toys for Tots, a Marine Corps Reserves Foundation. Their partnership with The Salvation Army in Linn County is essential to making Christmas morning joyful for hundreds of households each year.
