Christmas Toys & Ham Registration - for households with children aged newborn-14 as of 12/25/23

By registering for Christmas assistance with The Salvation Army you are agreeing to the following:

  • I am a resident of Linn County, IA

  • I have children in my household aged newborn -14 (on 12/25/2023).

  • I will only register children who live at my address at least 50% of the time, that are in my direct care, and are between the ages of newborn through age 14.

  • My household income is under the cap of 185% of poverty level (the same used to qualify for the school reduced lunch program).

  • I will provide verification of my registration information upon request.

  • I will not be participating in any other agency toy programs.

**I understand that violation of these terms will result in disqualification from future participation.

Please note:

We use a registration software that is also used for Angel Tree so you will see references to the Angel Tree Program logo etc.

  • Qualified angels = Children who are newborn-14 (as of Christmas day).
  • Applicant information = You, the parent or guardian completing the application.
  • Household Members Who Are Not Qualified Angels = Anyone in the household who is NOT eligible for toys ex. significant others, older children, etc.
  • Angel information =  This is where you enter the children ages newborn-14 who you are requesting toys for.

Christmas Ham Registration- for Linn County households without children who are eligible for toys:

  • Applicant information = You, the person completing the application.
  • Household Members Who Are Not Qualified Angels = Anyone in the household who is NOT eligible for toys ex. significant others, older children, etc.
  • When asked if there are any qualified angels, select no.

Distribution

Distribution will be at Hawkeye Downs from Monday, December 11th - Thursday, December 14th, 2023.  You will receive an email with your assigned appointment time when your registration is approved.

You will receive emails when your application has been received, approved, and a time assigned. New this year, you can log into the account you create when you register to see your status.

Register for Christmas toy & food Assistance

We'd like to say a very special thanks to our Christmas assistance partner, Toys for Tots. The toys given to families are provided in collaboration with Toys for Tots, a Marine Corps Reserves Foundation. Toys for Tots is a separate organization from The Salvation Army and the basic mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children at Christmas. Their partnership with The Salvation Army in Linn County is essential to making Christmas morning joyful for hundreds of households each year.
