Salvation Army Helps With Flooding

Linn County - The Cedar Rapids Salvation Army Emergency Disaster Services team has been deployed by our divisional headquarters in Peoria, Ill to assist with flood damage in Omaha, NE. Leaving Monday, March 18 at 2:00 pm a four person team drove out of town in the mobile feeding canteen for Nebraska led by local EDS Coordinator Neil Sorensen.
The team will assist others responding to the disaster by providing food and water to those in need. The Salvation Army also has clean up kits that will be distributed to those who may have any damage when they are able to re-enter their homes and businesses.
The Salvation Army in Cedar Rapids will be accepting financial donations for the victims and 100% of those donations will be sent to the Omaha area to assist in the recovery efforts.
