The Weekly Devotion for the Week of June 10

Jun 7, 2024

Live justly, show kindness to those around you, and walk humbly with God.

Justice is a foundational pillar of God’s character and His kingdom. Throughout scripture, we see God’s relentless pursuit of justice. Acting justly means living with integrity, fairness, and righteousness in our interactions with others.

In our daily lives, acting justly means treating everyone with respect and dignity, irrespective of their social status, race, or background. It means standing up against injustice whenever and wherever we encounter it, be it in our workplaces, schools, or neighborhoods.

Mercy, compassion, and kindness are the heartbeat of our faith. Loving mercy means showing compassion and kindness to others, forgiving those who wrong us, and extending grace even when it is undeserved. This mirrors the infinite mercy God has shown us through Christ.

To love mercy, we must cultivate a heart of empathy and kindness. This can be as simple as offering a listening ear to someone in distress, providing for those in need, or forgiving someone who has hurt us.

Humility is recognizing our dependence on God and acknowledging His sovereignty over our lives. Walking humbly with God means submitting to His will, seeking His guidance, and living in constant awareness of His presence.

Walking humbly involves daily practices of prayer, reading scripture, and being sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. It means placing God’s desires above our own and being willing to follow His path, even when it is difficult or counter-cultural.

Let us act justly in all our dealings, love mercy in all our relationships, and walk humbly with our God in all our ways.
