Christmas Assistance Program
Christmas is a joyful day in the lives of millions of people but for many families, it can be a time of stress and sadness. That is why we provide Christmas Assistance to children throughout the Central Indiana area. Every year, The Salvation Army tries to provide families with some relief through gifts and toys for their children through Angel Tree/Toy Shop.
Required Documentation
- Each child must be age 12 or younger
- Household must fall below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level
- Families must reside in Marion County or surrounding Counties
- If you are not in our coverage area, contact your local Salvation Army
- Parents/caregivers must have legal custody of participating children
- Head of Household ID
- Officials document(s) with child's date of birth
- Birth certificate, medical card, school record, etc.
- Proof of household income
- We will accept similar verification as apartment complexes
- Custody Documentation
- Custody order, school record, lease, tax return, welfare statement, etc.

Sponsorship of Angels (children) will begin in October! When you sponsor an Angel, the gifts you buy go directly to the children after a quality check.
When sponsoring an Angel, you should expect to spend about $100 on gifts. A wish list, that was provided by the family, will be sent to you once you've sponsored your Angels.

All locations are CLOSED in observance of any federal holidays.
Much of the support for Angel Tree comes from local businesses and organizations that are looking for ways to give back to people in their community. Whether you want to sponsor a group of Angels or volunteer at our distribution event, this support makes Angel Tree Toy Shop possible. We count on local schools, businesses, small groups and organizations to host collections of new, unwrapped gifts for 0 - 12 year olds. If you would like to host a collection, we are happy to provide boxes, and even a list of needed age categories to get you started if you'd like!
