Double the Donation: The Salvation Army of Central Indiana Announces $100,000 Kettle Match
Volunteers are needed to help The Salvation Army reach their goal by Christmas Eve
The Salvation Army of Central Indiana is excited to announce a generous $100,000 kettle donation match taking place from December 18 through December 24. Every dollar donated at a physical Red Kettle or through the Virtual Red Kettle during this period will be matched dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact.
The match is being made possible through the support of several local donors looking to make the most of their donations by encouraging the public to dig a little deeper in their pockets as they walk by Red Kettles this month. Thanks to the match, every $10 put in a kettle will turn into $20, doubling the and the impact of that shopper's gift. More families will be helped, more pantries will be full, and more children will have a joyful Christmas.
This match will support The Salvation Army of Central Indiana’s $3.6 million Christmas campaign goal. All donations stay within the community to help neighbors in need, not just during the holidays but throughout the year, funding essential programs such as food assistance, shelter, and support services for families.
To make the match a success, The Salvation Army of Central Indiana needs the help of businesses, organizations, and individuals in the community to ensure the iconic Red Kettles are out and bells are ringing. Volunteering to ring a bell has an big impact since just two hours of ringing can raise enough money to feed a family of four for an entire week.
“Your time is as valuable as your donations," said Major Malinda O'Neil, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Central Indiana. “By ringing the bell, you are helping provide food, warmth, and hope to those who need it most. Without ringers, we don’t have a kettle out and we need all our kettles to make this match.”
Signing up is simple. Visit RegisterToRing.com to choose a convenient location and time at Red Kettle locations in Indianapolis and the donut counties. Bring your family, friends, or coworkers and make a meaningful difference in your community. Bell ringers are encouraged to share their experience on social media and challenge others to give two hours of their time in support of The Salvation Army.
Donations and volunteer efforts directly support programs that change lives. Whether it’s helping 5,000 children through the Angel Tree and Toy Shop programs at Christmas or offering year-round support like rent and utility assistance, The Salvation Army gives hope to thousands of individuals and families in Central Indiana.
