Conover Foundation Matching All Donations to Salvation Army Red Kettles Up to $5,000
Gift will double donations December 18-24 in Bartholomew County
Shoppers in Bartholomew County will have twice the reasons to drop some cash into a Salvation Army Red Kettle during the week leading up to Christmas (Dec 18-24). Thanks to a generous gift from the Conover Foundation, all donations up to $5,000 will be matched dollar-for-dollar to help The Salvation Army reach its $100,000 fundraising goal.
"This is such a vital time in our Red Kettle Campaign," said Captain Amy Tomkins, corps officer for The Salvation Army of Columbus. "With just a few days left of bell ringing, every donation means we're one step closer to funding our ministries in Bartholomew County in 2025. We're so appreciative of the Conover Foundation for stepping up and helping us encourage shoppers to give a little more this holiday season!"
Kettles and bell ringers can be found at locations across the county, including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, Hobby Lobby, and Walgreens. Smaller counter kettles are also sprinkled around the community at retailers and restaurants. Businesses interested in hosting a Red Kettle or a counter kettle during these final days of the campaign should reach out to Capt. Tompkins at (812) 372-7118.
Many more volunteer bell ringers are still needed to ensure that Red Kettles can be out through Christmas Eve. Individuals, groups, and families are invited to sign up on registertoring.com for the location, date, and time of their choosing. In just two hours, a bell ringer can raise enough money to feed a family of four for an entire week.
