Council Bluffs Corps Expands Flood-Relief Efforts In Southwest Iowa

May 3, 2019

The Salvation Army of Council Bluffs is continuing its flood-relief efforts in southwest Iowa seven days a week and expanding into new endeavors.

Beginning Wednesday, May 8, the Corps will expand its work in Fremont County by providing emotional-spiritual counseling (ESC) on Wednesday evenings to flood survivors living in mobile housing at Waubonsie State Park near Sidney, Iowa.

In addition, as of April 27-28, the Corps began a new food-service operation in Pacific Junction, Iowa, alongside its ongoing food-service operation in Hamburg, Iowa. The Hamburg operation will continue daily until further notice, and the Pacific Junction operation will continue on weekends until further notice. Food-service operations are being conducted in support of local residents’ flood-recovery work.
