Third Disaster Resource Center to Open in Bellevue on Thursday, April 4

Apr 2, 2019

The Salvation Army Western Division will open a third metro-area Disaster Resource Center (DRC) -- called the Sarpy-Cass DRC -- at 9 a.m. on Thursday, April 4. The Sarpy-Cass DRC will be located inside the former JC Penney store at Southroads Mall (1001 Fort Crook Road, Suite 250, at the south end of the mall) in Bellevue and will focus on serving the Sarpy County and Cass County communities.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC will join two other DRCs already in operation (one in Omaha near 84th and Center, and another in Council Bluffs at 715 N. 16th St.), allowing residents in all parts of the metro greater access to flood-relief aid.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC will serve as a flood-relief distribution center for those who are in need of supplies to aid in clean-up effots. The Salvation Army is partnering with Bellevue Christian Center to oversee operations and inventory of the Sarpy-Cass DRC.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. and will remain open until further notice.

In addition, on Sunday, April 7, and Monday, April 8, a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) inside the Sarpy-Cass DRC will offer flood survivors the opportunity to access a broad spectrum of disaster-relief services and resources provided by a number of local, county and state agencies and organizations.

The MARC will be open inside the Sarpy-Cass DRC on Sunday, April 7, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Monday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Please note: On April 7 and April 8 the Sarpy-Cass DRC's hours will be extended to accommodate the MARC.
