Building Character Through the Power of Music

May 21, 2015

Every child needs structure and encouragement to keep on going in life.

When a child walks in to our music program, that’s exactly what he or she receives. Motivation, encouragement, discipline and the support from instructors that are there to help forge character in their lives.

The Salvation Army of East Chicago Corps School of Music has been providing educational and music programs for children that couldn’t otherwise have access to such programs if it weren’t for the funding we receive from individuals, organizations and local foundations.

In fact, Foundations of East Chicago, has been a long supporter of the Salvation Army in providing music programs to children in our community. It is a partnership that  has enabled young children develop musical and personal skills that make a positive impact in their behavior and life in general. You can learn more about two particular cases, David and Rick, who have seen a positive change in their lives through our efforts and funding from Foundations of East Chicago and other various sources.

You can also learn more about our youth programs here and be part of a network of people who seeks to build character in children through music.
