Chicagoland Roofing Council Helps Keeps Kids Warm in U-46

Mar 27, 2020

The Chicagoland Roofing Council steps up in a big way to keep kids warm this winter in seven U-46 schools.

Late last Fall Bruce Diederich of the Chicagoland Roofing Council (CRC) contacted Rick Reigner, Resource Development Director, telling him about an article he saw in the newspaper regarding The Salvation Army Project Coat Closet partnership with U-46. The goal of this project was to put closets in 24 identified schools and make brand new winter coats available to children who did not have them.

Bruce indicated that his group might be interested in sponsoring a closet and requested more information. Rick was in need of finding sponsors for 7 remaining schools at the time and hoped that the CRC would consider one of the remaining sites. Bruce needed time to communicate with CRC Trustees to determine what their interest might be. When Rick and Bruce re-connected Rick asked which school they were interested in sponsoring and Bruce responded by saying, " all of them!"

We want to thank the CRC for their very generous support of the following seven schools this past year including; Clinton Elementary School, Laurel Hill Elementary School, Lincoln Elementary School, Ontarioville Elementary School, Parkwood Elementary School, Wayne Elementary School and Canton Middle School. More than 80 brand new winter coats were distributed to boys and girls at the the seven school thanks to CRC's generosity. Thanks so much for helping to keep kids warm this winter!
