Help us Fill 600 Red Ribbon Baskets!
The Salvation Army of Elkhart’s annual Red Ribbon Basket Campaign is back this holiday season. The organization is calling on the community to help fill 600 laundry baskets with personal care items, which will then be distributed to local families in need.
“Due to the pandemic, we were unable to do the Red Ribbon Basket Campaign last year,” said Lt. Katy Benedict, The Salvation Army of Elkhart Corps Officer. “We are excited to have this campaign return as it has positively impacted so many in the community in prior years. Our community is a generous one, and we are asking for their assistance in helping to make Christmas brighter for our neighbors.”
To sign up to fill an individual basket, call (574) 970-0088 or visit The Salvation Army’s offices at 300 N. Main St between 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The Salvation Army will then provide the bin to load. Sign-ups are underway and community donors have until Dec. 13 before baskets must be completed and returned.
Toiletry, personal care, and cleaning items needed to fill the baskets include laundry detergent, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner, feminine hygiene products, first aid products, bathroom cleaner, chlorine bleach, dish soap, paper towels, toothbrush and toothpaste, bath soap, deodorant, and vinegar.
