Volunteer Vacancies For The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division:

Encouragers needed
What an easy way to reach out and connect to those working on the front lines! We are looking for volunteers to write encouraging notes that will be delivered with donuts to essential workers (healthcare, police and fire) on the front lines on National Donut Day, Friday, June 5.

During World Wars I and II, The Salvation Army brought hope to those on the front lines by serving nearly 9,000 donuts to soldiers every day amidst gunfire and bombs. This year, The Salvation Army will bring hope to the emergency response and healthcare workers who are on the front lines in this trying time. Volunteers can handwrite words of encouragement or gratitude on index cards (5x7 size is preferred, but not required). The deadline to drop off thank-you notes is Wednesday, June 3. Notes can be dropped off into our outdoor drop box at one of the following locations:

Yard Work Needed
We currently have two Corps that are requesting some volunteer help on their grounds. They are both looking for groups or individuals that are willing to lend a helping hand.

Antler Up – Moose Track Challenge
Moose Tracks Ice Cream 10,000 scoop challenge is a virtual challenge you can participate from the comfort of your home. Share 1 photo with "antlers" and $1 will be donated to our Bed & Bread Club program. Join the fun for a great cause, tag your friends and be sure to use #MoosetracksChallenge.

Vibrant Volunteers

6000 Warehouse Project Volunteers
We would like to extend a huge thank you to the many who volunteered for all three phases of our Food Box Warehouse Project. As a team, we were able to complete three 6,000 box phases for a total of 18,000 food boxes. Each box contained enough food to feed an adult for nearly a week and were distributed to those in need in the Metro Detroit area. Each of you were an important part of a big project, and many in the community were helped during a very trying time. Watch our "Thank You, Volunteers" video.

The crew at Flame have jumped in and volunteered wherever they were needed during the COVID-19 pandemic. From the Food Box Warehouse Project, to doing yard work at local Corps Community Centers, they have been up for every challenge. We thank you and salute you for continuing to make a difference in the metro Detroit community.
