Commissioner Hodder Thanks Echelon Detroit for Its Red Kettle Fundraising Efforts

Mar 25, 2022

What an exciting day for Echelon Detroit! This afternoon, National Commander Kenneth Hodder hosted a Zoom call for our board members of Echelon to thank them for raising over $6,800 during the 2021 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign. On the call were president Courtney Gilliam, events chair Lauren Wynns, and secretary Cody Johnson. Hodder expressed his gratitude on behalf of the individuals and families who would be served because of the board's hard work during the holidays, explaining how important it is that The Salvation Army remain dedicated to fighting pandemic poverty and keep families in their homes.

"That's why Echelon is so important to The Salvation Army across the nation," said Hodder. "Your commitment to our mission is vital during these times. It is my personal priority to see Echelon chapters all around the country grow."

Echelon Detroit president Courtney Gilliam shared her thoughts about the inspiring work that she sees locally and her desire to see growth in membership in the local chapter. Commissioner Hodder highlighted the tremendous opportunity right now to get people involved for the first time in what The Salvation Army is doing, and ended with a prayer of blessing.
