HERE'S HOW TO SET UP YOUR ONLINE FUNDRAISING PROJECT IN 30 SECONDS! YOU CAN ALSO DOWNLOAD THE SETUP GUIDE.

  1. Visit the Detroit Free Press/TCF Bank Marathon 2020's fundraising event page on GivenGain, or use the Search option to locate the event page. 
  2. Click on "Start fundraising" to register a fundraising project with your Facebook login details or an email address. 
  3. When logged in, search for The Salvation Army Eastern Michigan Division and click on "SELECT". You can also use this link to get directly to our page.
  4. Complete the project steps where needed, adding a profile picture, a project video/image, fundraising target and a personalized project story. Then click on Make It Live! Tip: Why not make the first donation to get your fundraising going?
  5. Share you fundraising project link with friends, family, and colleagues via email and social media, asking them for donations. Got a question about setting up your fundraising project? Contact GivenGain at fundraising@givengain.com for assistance.
  6. Get your training on! Find the training plan that suits your needs!

HERE'S HOW TO REGISTER FOR IN THE MARATHON!

  1. Sign up and register at the Detroit Marathon's official site: freepmarathon.com/register
  2. Click on ‘Click Here to Register’
  3. On the pop out (International Waiver), click “I Accept”
  4. Select your race and complete registration
  5. It will ask you to Select a charity to fundraise for. Choose ‘The Salvation Army’ from the dropdown menu
  6. *Note, you do not need your passport or EDL number for this. You WILL need to present your passport or EDL at packet pick-up though
  7. The next page is the Event Merchandise page. Skip it and click the Continue tab
  8. Click Checkout and submit your order
