How we help brighten the holidays - 2022

The holiday season brings with it warm and fuzzy memories and feelings, but for many, it brings up painful memories or even disappointing realities of their current struggles and life situation. Financial stresses through loss of job, decreased work hours, disabilities, debt, or inability to pay ongoing family bills are often the catalyst to huge anxieties. Many mental health issues surface during this season. We want to offer what we can to families and especially children during this hard time in their lives. With the hope of building relationships or directing them to needed services or programs. Support systems and relationships are the best ways to offer support in a crisis

Thanksgiving Community Meal

We offer a Thanksgiving meal to whosoever, although the great draw is from our immediate area. Many fixed-income or no-income families attend and we try to make it as homey and welcoming as possible. This meal is generally held during the week of Thanksgiving and anyone wanting to join us our welcome. The meal will be held on Nov, 23rd at 1040 N Fulton Ave, from 11-1 pm.

Toy Town

The Salvation Army in partnership with Toys for tots works to provide Christmas presents for children 0- 16 years of age. So the joy of Christmas can still be experienced without the parents having to worry about anything more than what they already have on their plate. It is The Salvation Army's hope that all children feel loved and cared for at Christmas, and we are excited to be working closely with Toys for Tots and other community partners towards the same goal. This is a special time for Children and they may not understand why there may be no presents at Christmas.  The Salvation Army's desire is that all know of a special gift that was given by God to this world in Jesus.  And He is the reason for the season. We hope that by the selfless giving of gifts and other items we have an avenue to share the love of Jesus and the gospel.
