Salvation Army of Evansville recognizes volunteers for their hard work
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Salvation Army of Evansville spent this week recognizing those who volunteer their time.
Officials say under the leadership of Kim Zorzi of LyondellBasell, they have had a dedicated crew that helps them unload their food deliveries and ring kettle bells.
Additionally, the group helped them serve during their Thanksgiving Festival and collect toys for Toy Town.
“We are humbled at their willingness to walk with us so more tasks can be tackled,” says the Salvation Army on social media.
Officials say the other group that was recognized was the Evansville Centenary UMC, who was presented their first-ever Billie Mortis Spirit of Bellringing award.
“They had the most hours and money raised by a single group or individual,” says a SA spokesperson. “The award was accepted by long time volunteer Tim Blythe who has organized their group the last few years.”
The Salvation Army says they are excited for 2024 and adding more faces to their army of volunteers.
