Food Distribution at Farmington Hills Provides 1,000 Boxes to Neighbors In Need
On May 6, The Salvation Army Farmington Hills Corps was able to provide 1,000 boxes of meals to its neighbors in need. Each food box was prepared following the COVID-19 safety guidelines and can feed an adult for about seven days. Individuals and families from throughout the community came to the Corps, were greeted by friendly volunteers and staff, and received a food box.
Lieutenant Karen Kumar, who has been pastoring at the Corps with her husband for almost a year, was on site as well. "God has blessed us so much to be able to bless our community," said Kumar. "Something that is so unique about Detroit is The Salvation Army has been serving here since 1877 and meeting human needs without discrimination."
