Flint is still known for being the basketball mecca of the world. Hosting the 51st Anniversary of the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world supports the children of the L.I.F.E. Center's Gift Discovery Program, ensuring successful futures for the next generation! All funds raised are dedicated to this amazing opportunity!
This will be the second time for The Salvation Army L.I.F.E. Center to host such a huge event and everyone is super excited. We are expecting to have 200 teams this year. Spectators, Players, Volunteers Sponsors and partnering organizations from all over will attend in celebration of this Gus Macker world tour event.
Linnell Jones McKenney, the executive director of The Salvation Army L.I.F.E. Center and Flint’s first female professional basketball hall-of-famer and world champion has played in many Gus Macker tournaments across the state. Flint is her favorite because it's HOME to her.
Her quest to bring Gus Macker back to flint 4 years ago after a 20 year hiatus has been successful and has become the 3rd largest community event in the flint area.
