Providing Smiles for Children

"The Salvation Army helped during a time I was facing unemployment. I had nowhere else to turn and they provided Christmas for my family. The smiles on my kid's faces were the biggest I had seen them in months!"- Amanda

How we help brighten the holidays

Angel Tree tags represent area children whose parents have applied for assistance, during the Christmas season. The goal of this program is to provide children, ages newborn -14, at least one new outfit. The Salvation Army volunteers interview families and mark the tags with the child?s information, sizes, and basic instructions on the program. Angel Tree tags are distributed to local businesses, organizations, families, and individuals who provide a warm winter coat, new shoes, and a new outfit for a child. Children may be part of a larger family, so we ask that rather than buy in abundance, for one child, you take additional tags. The gifts are distributed to the families in the week before Christmas. The Angel Tree program is helping to provide a merry Christmas, one child at a time. Last year we served 2,793 individuals at Christmas. None of this would have been possible without the partnerships of business and individuals, like you.

The Adopt-A-Family program is designed to unite donors with those in need.  The Salvation Army attempts to identify the families who are in the greatest need for the Adopt-A-Family program.  The majority of the families who are placed in this program are working poor.  The Adopt-A-Family program has been growing each year as the community comes together to assist those less fortunate.

We have families ready for immediate adoption!!!

Card A Teen

Teens are often forgotten during the holidays, but many teens are not only income providers in poverty families, but caregivers for younger siblings as well. Don't let them be left behind this season.
