$150,000 Ready to Double Donations to The Salvation Army
Matching Gifts Totaling $150,000 Ready to Double Donations to The Salvation Army
Donations made to Red Kettles through Christmas Eve will be matched by generous local donors
December is The Salvation Army's most important fundraising month, and this year donations to Red Kettles will be doubled up to $150,000 thanks to three local supporters. Commercial real estate company NAI Hanning & Bean and two anonymous donors have combined resources to offer this special matching opportunity. All cash donations made to Red Kettles today through December 24 will be matched in an effort to encourage shoppers to give a little more in support of local Salvation Army ministries.
NAI Hanning & Bean is a long-time friend of The Salvation Army of Fort Wayne and has supported the organization's vital ministries for many years. Christmas assistance programs like Angel Tree brighten the holidays for Allen County residents, while year-round programs provide food, rent, and utility assistance when times are tough. This Red Kettle match will help to fund these and many other services to the community through 2025.
"We feel so very blessed that these generous donors have provided this opportunity. For NAI Hanning & Bean, in conjunction with these 2 other anonymous donors, to match the donations that come in from the community is incredible," said Capt. Scott Smith of The Salvation Army of Fort Wayne. "This will make an impact on our community that will reach far beyond the holidays. This match will allow us to better serve those in need in Allen County throughout the year!"
As Christmas nears, many local residents are looking to The Salvation Army to help them make ends meet and provide a joyful Christmas for their family. Thanks to donations made to the Red Kettles in December, The Salvation Army is able to help those who are struggling in the community find hope for a better tomorrow. Last year, these donations helped The Salvation Army provide over 80,000 meals to those facing hunger and basic social services, like rent and utility assistance, to 11,500 people in Allen County.
Shoppers looking for a Red Kettle this month will find bell ringers at Walmart, Sam's Club, Kroger, Hobby Lobby, and JCPenney. Anyone interested in volunteering to ring a bell this holiday season is invited to visit RegisterToRing.com and find a location, date, and time that works for their schedule. There are many 2-hour volunteer bell ringing shifts still available to ensure that as many Red Kettles as possible are out during this special match period.
Every donation given to The Salvation Army through the annual Red Kettle Campaign provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay right here in the community where it is given.
