The Salvation Army has changed lives and given hope to countless people throughout the nation. But it never does it alone.
When William Booth, our founder, read a printer's proof of the 1878 "Christian Mission" annual report, he noticed the statement, "The Christian Mission is a volunteer army." Crossing out the words "volunteer army," he penned "Salvation Army." This is how we got out name and mission of our organization.
Our volunteers are what keeps our ministry going. Check out some of the ways to get involved with our mission:
Food Pantry Assistant
Our pantry is what keeps many of our clients fed throughout each month. We need volunteers to walk clients through our pantry, restock shelves, and sort through our donated goods. Hours for volunteering are Monday - Friday 8:00AM-12:00PM.
Noon Meal Program Assistant
Nothing warms the soul like a warm meal! If preparing food and serving is one of your strengths, then this is the perfect opportunity for you. Hours for volunteering are 10:00AM - 1:00PM.
Investing in the lives of the next generation is what keeps our organization going, especially at our day care. We are in need of volunteers to help out in our classrooms and help support our staff.
NEW FOR 2019: Community Days
Whether you're a corporation, youth group, or community service group, helping out the community is important. Every fourth Thursday and fifth Friday are open to groups from the community to come to our kitchen and prepare and serve a meal. Group sizes 4-6 and children ages 10 and older are welcome! Contact Alli Oravec to see what dates are available.
We have more opportunities available! Please contact Alli Oravec, Volunteer Coordinator at (920) 955-1230 or email at email@example.com
