Freedom Center - Harbor Light Employment Services

The Employment Services Program provide workforce and job placement. We serve individuals from various communities throughout Chicago

The Salvation Army understands it can be difficult to find steady employment - especially after you achieve sobriety or re-enter society after a period of incarceration. Or perhaps you’ve just been out of the job market for a while and need to brush up on some skills. Our staff can help prepare you for your next job search!

About the Program

The Employment Services Program provide workforce and job placement. We serve individuals from various communities throughout Chicago. Eligible Chicago residents age 18 and over are able to receive Job Readiness Training, Employment Counseling which including job referrals and job placement, paid on the job training to transition into the labor market and direct placement. Program orientation takes place 1st and 2nd Monday of the month. We are partners with the CTA Second Chance Program, Second Chance Renovations, Amazon, and Eco Direct Laundry & Cleaners.

Eligibility Guidelines

  • City of Chicago Residency
  • 18 years and older
  • Two (2) forms of identification

Orientation is held the first & second Monday of each month from 1-2 p.m. at The Salvation Army Freedom Center, 825 N. Christiana Avenue, Chicago. Call 312.667.2335 for more information and to register.
