Grant Award Serves Local Families

Jul 2, 2021

The Illinois Pork Producers Association awarded The Salvation Army of Freeport a grant which allowed 235 lbs. of pork to be distributed to local families in need. This food was purchased from local grocers and was able to serve over 70 families.

Those who were served by our mission thanks to this generous grant support were also able to benefit from other parts of our Corps services. Over 700 pieces of clothing and diapers were distributed as well.

Thank you to the Illinois Pork Producers Association for their grant support and for all local supporters of our mission who empower our work to meet the local needs of our community!

The next community event planned for Freeport is our Back To School Giveaway in August. The Salvation Army will have school supplies and clothing for local children in need. Providing these essentials to local families helps youth to perform better academically and socially.

We hope to also include food in this event as well.

Please contact us if you want to give your support for this community event.
