The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s annual Celebrity Bellringer Day, er, Weekend is going virtual! More than 40 metro Detroit media personalities and mascots will don their VFH (volunteer-from-home) attire to support the nonprofit’s Red Kettle Campaign starting Friday, Dec. 4 through Sunday, Dec. 6.

During Celebrity Bellringer Weekend, media personalities from Detroit-area television, radio, online and print outlets will join forces with beloved local mascots to raise money from the safety of home via their respective social media sites. Each virtual volunteer will have their own peer-to-peer fundraising page, which will act like a virtual red kettle to collect donations to help Rescue Christmas for families in need.

Celebrities will be posting pictures, videos and other fun content to encourage members of the community to donate to their personal fundraising page. At the conclusion of the weekend, the top three philanthropic celebrities will receive trophies for their fundraising efforts.
