Will you help a child keep warm this winter? The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit is partnering with 97.9 WJLB for the Coats for Kids Radiothon, an event which has been around for more than 40 years! The radiothon proceeds will provide coats and other winter accessories to children in need across metro Detroit.

The broadcast takes place on Saturday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Universal Nonstop in Warren, located at 28300 Dequindre Rd. Listeners can drop off new children’s coats – infant through adult sizes – throughout the event. Listeners who are not able to attend the Coats for Kids can still support the cause by donating online or texting COAT to 2-4-3-6-5 (24 hours a day, 365 days a year!). A donation of $25 will help provide a coat and other winter accessories to keep one child warm this winter.

Families are in fear of their kids being in harsh conditions this winter. The Salvation Army Coats for Kids will help thousands of families find a way to keep their children safe and warm.
