Why The Salvation Army Holds a Memorial Service: This traditional service offers everyone a chance to pause, reflect, and celebrate God's faithfulness to us and those whose lives we honor.

What to Bring: Your family and a chair. In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Royal Oak Salvation Army, located at 3015 N Main Street, Royal Oak, Michigan. 

What to Expect: The Salvation Army brass band will begin playing at 2:30 PM. Many will gather near the gravesites of their loved ones interred there, along with friends and family they know—the names of soldiers who have been Promoted to Glory since the last service will be read aloud. There will be a few congregational songs and a brief devotional, followed by the playing of taps.
