At the 360 LIFE Center in Flint, Linnell McKinney, known as “Coach Linnell,” leads a range of programs that provide holistic support to youth and their families. One of the cornerstone initiatives is the “Meetup and Eat Up” program, where children not only receive nutritious, free meals but also participate in character-building activities during mealtime. “It’s not just come and eat,” Linnell explains. “We’re sitting down as a family, affirming you with different affirmations, having prayer, and then we break off into the program.” The Center also offers a culinary program that teaches families how to prepare healthy meals at home, promoting mental and physical well-being.
In addition to nutrition, Linnell highlights their STEM-focused robotics and eSports program, designed to equip youth with skills for future careers. “Our purpose is to prepare these young people at an early age,” she says, offering pathways into over 200 careers.
