Art Van Furniture comes on board to remember 9/11

Floatingsky lantern memorial to benefit The Salvation Army

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., - To commemorate the countless livesgiven during the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, Art Van furniture has joinedlocal Chevy dealers to partner with CBS Radio Detroit in sellingmemorial floating sky lanterns for $5 each.  All proceeds will benefit The Salvation Army's EmergencyDisaster Services.

On Sept. 11, 2011, two special 10th anniversary memorial ceremonies are plannedto take place at the Metro Beach Metropark in HarrisonTownship and Lake Erie Metropark in Brownstown. The memorials will beginat 5 p.m. and will include family activities, bands, color guards and moreprior to the 9:11 p.m. lantern lighting. Those who can't attend are encouragedto light their lantern outside at 9:11 p.m. and tune their radio to 99.5-FM,104.3-FM, 98.7-FM or WWJ-AM News Radio 950 to hear God Bless America played inhonor of the heroes and victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.

Lanterns are currently on sale at all 39 Metro DetroitChevy Dealers, and go on sale Thursday, September 1 at Art Van Furniture's 18southeastern Michigan stores. For location information, please visitwww.cbsdetroit.com.
