With Donations Down, 30 Kroger Stores Will Extend Red Kettles through Dec. 31
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Most of The Salvation Army's350 red kettles will disappear on Dec. 24, but with The Salvation Army behindon its fundraising goal of $7.8 million, 30 Kroger stores have stepped up tohelp, keeping the kettles in front of their stores Dec. 27-31.
"Kroger has been such a supportivepartner for many years and we are incredibly grateful for their act ofgenerosity," said Major John Turner, general secretary for The Salvation Armyof Metro Detroit. "These additional funds will make a big difference in helpingus reach our $7.8 million goal."

Select Kroger stores in Plymouth,Canton, Bloomfield Township, West Bloomfield, Clarkston, Independence Township,Orion Township, Walled Lake, Rochester Hills, Waterford, White Lake andCommerce Township will host kettles at their stores from Dec. 27-31.
